COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Sherri Jefferson Helping Returning Citizens
Sherri Jefferson, the African American Juvenile Justice Project and the Father’s Rights Project proudly participated in the 2nd Annual Re Entering Citizens Job Fair for Former Offenders.
The program was spearheaded and sponsored by the Henry County Georgia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in collaboration with Clayton State University, The Zeta Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Streetz 94.5 and Old School 87.7 radio stations
The purpose of their Job Fair is to provide community outreach and employment services to returning citizens. The programs offered included,

Job Readiness Training & Resume Workshops
Legal Assistance from The GA Justice Project
Community Service Providers
Voter Registration from GA WAND
FREE HIV Testing
Jefferson provided literature to program participants during the panel discussion about Reentry Barriers.
The “Understanding and Navigating Outstanding Child Support” literature provided information about child support obligations during incarceration, repayment upon release, and steps to take to avoid contempt of court and prosecution.
Jefferson attended the panel discussion lead by returning citizens . It was very informative to hear from returning citizens and she continues to see the growing number of women in the system.
Although Sherri Jefferson is not a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, she proudly avails herself to events sponsored by their organization or the members of Omega Psi Phi.
